Identity, Ancestry, and Displacement. During this conversation session, we explore how identity is shaped by ancestors, migration, memories, community, and environment. Identity is not viewed as something fixed or individual, but as something relational that is constantly changing. Participants receive a pre-designed passport cover made of fruit leather. Based on the conversation, they shape a symbol/emblem that will later be (laser) engraved on the cover.

The fruit leather, made from leftover fruit, represents transformation and knowledge and stories passed down from generation to generation. During the making process, we talk about boundaries, belonging, shared human values, and what democracy can look like when we start from what connects us.

The session is led by Ximena Dávalos and Veronika Babayan, who developed and created the fruit leather passports. The passports remain together on the Chakana table and form a collective archive of connected identities.

After the exhibition closes, participants can pick up their passes.
