Placeholder presents: 6 People From Your Dear One

How do you use memories and associations in a search for a cherished place or person?

Kelly Martijn

There is a theory that we are connected to every other person on Earth through up to six people. If you write down the names of these people, a network of intersecting roots slowly emerges. By moving between these roots, you come across new intersections that connect people, places, objects, colors, scents, or other elements.

In this Placeholder workshop, led by Kelly Martijn, we learn to trust our associative abilities as a navigation tool. We explore what a search for a cherished place or person reveals about ourselves, and how we can ultimately translate this into a drawing constructed from colored felt.
