TENT welcomes Queen Takes, the new chess school in Rotterdam where you take your first steps on the chessboard or further develop your game. Step by step, move by move. Behind Queen Takes stands Emine Taytas, a passionate chess player and certified chess trainer.

Beginner lessons for children
At Queen Takes, Emine provides personal chess lessons to small groups in Rotterdam West. Drawing on her experience and knowledge as a teacher and player, she has developed two lesson packages.
Starting September 2026, kids aged 6 to 12 will be joining the board. The lessons are suitable for complete beginners or kids just starting out who want to take their game to the next level.
Beginner lessons for FLINTA*
Starting in September, Queen Takes is also reserving an evening for beginning FLINTA chess players of all ages, with the aim of building a nice community. Emine is a member of and trained within the Women in Chess Foundation and aims to make the chess world more inclusive and safer for female chess players.
