In ‘Intergenerational Curses’ their words and gestures are interwoven with passages from a live ‘Tapestry of a Diaspora’ event with poets Zaïre Krieger and Onias Landveld. They ask each other what effects they observe of the experiences, world views, norms and values they have inherited from their ancestors. What is the impact of the stories that could not be told? Why do we feel the weight and burden of ideas and narratives we must carry with us, but we don’t necessarily identify with? The video includes an animation made for a series of texts Onias Landveld wrote about intergenerational transference, which is also part of his theatre performance ‘Kunu’ (2021). R V D I N Λ is a multidisciplinary creative from Bonaire, with an extensive experience within the world of audiovisual storytelling and creative production. She is known for her roles as creative director, creative producer, photographer, editor, designer, and concept developer. Onias Landveld is the former city poet of Tilburg, storyteller and playwright, and founder of production house Wosu. Zaïre Krieger is a spoken word artist and writer as well as a journalist for such platforms as Oneworld and Dipsaus. Shari was born and raised in Aruba. As their day job, Shari is a history and social studies teacher. Besides educating the younger generation, Shari also loves working on multiple projects that concern our cultural and social wellbeing. Nagila was born and raised in Aruba. She later moved to Maastricht and lived there for 8 years, studying Biomeds and Neuroscience. Now she works in medical information and co-hosts the podcast in her spare time. Living the dream.
