In het kader van tentoonstelling There is no party so noisy as the one you’re not invited to, samengesteld door gastcurator Linnea Semmerling bevraagd Concrete Blossom op haar uitnodiging het onderwerp geluidsoverlast. Door een geluidsbrug te breken tussen Rotterdam Delfshaven en de Witte de Withstraat in Rotterdam Cool. Manifesto: “Come and witness the public trial of the year. The people of Delfshaven, Rotterdam, are fed up with these migrants. We know that in the second half of the 20th century, Europe was being flooded by male migrant workers who were stronger than men on the European mainland. Afterwards came their wives. And then, they had babies. And their babies had babies. Babies cry. Some loud. It is with wrath that Delfshaven’s inhabitants witnessed the birth of a place called The Niteshop in January 2021. People were intrigued by the dark mystery of The Niteshop and its space in time; by its immense ethereal sounds; by its minds beating to sounds reminiscent of a concrete jungle; by their vast intellects. Cool and unsympathetic, the place is adored. Meanwhile, futuristic plans for the people of Delfshaven are being drawn by outsiders. With the arrival of The Niteshop came noise. Lots of noise. People talking loud. People laughing loud. People dancing loud. People crying, loud. Like babies do. The people of Delfshaven have had enough of these babies. They are too busy caring for their own babies. Looking after another baby is simply too much. They can’t bare it anymore. Enough is enough! On Friday the 3rd of MARCH 2023, these babies will be put on trial. Over the course of 30 minutes, we shall witness who’s laughing now but will be crying later. On this particular evening, it is estimated that hundred thousand billion people will tune in to the live stream trial of the year. Van politieke hiphop tot mysterieuze Bollywood en van Detroit House tot harde techno. Zijn stijl weerspiegelt de grootstedelijke vloeibaarheid en de complexiteit ervan. Hij raakt elk genre dat hem doet denken aan de hood, de strijd en de hustle. Geeft een nieuw geluid aan overleven. Zijn selecties variëren van footwork, techno, hiphop, clubtrax en alles daartussenin. Energiek, betrokken en poëtisch zijn sets maken hem onvermijdelijk in de club. Mo Jakob maakt deel uit van Concrete Blossom. Katinka van Gorkum Katinka is een beeldend kunstenaar, performer en schrijver die geïnteresseerd is in het interieur als figuur voor innerlijkheid. Van Gorkums leven en praktijk zijn nauw met elkaar verweven, waarbij het begrip ‘een huis’ centraal staat. Zij ziet een huis niet als een vast concept maar als een huid, een deel van het oppervlak waarmee mensen de wereld om hen heen bedekken. Via het privédomein onderzoekt zij de binnenwereld van de mens.
